Hi everyone! My name is Melissa Merz, and I am a senior at UCF. I am double majoring in biomedical sciences and psychology, and I graduated from Countryside High School in Clearwater, Florida. My favorite class at UCF was tissue engineering, which was taught by a mix of very knowledgeable professors and industry employees. I plan to go to graduate school and study biomedical engineering, with a focus in tissue engineering and cancer research. I decided to become involved in the STEM Ambassador Program because I wanted the ability to inspire students by teaching them how diverse and fascinating STEM careers can be!
