The SHPE Jr Conference is a FREE community event where UCF engineering students team up with professional engineers to give local middle schoolers, particularly underrepresented minorities, a taste of the different industries within the STEM spectrum. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the different areas of engineering, working side by side with college students and professional engineers on hands-on, STEM-related projects. Apart from that, real engineers will share their stories and host interactive presentations throughout the day in which students are able to ask any questions they may have. Parents will also be taken care of during this event, benefiting from college readiness seminars and other informational sessions as well as participating in one of the activities.
