Sofia Arquiadez
My name is Sofia Arquiadez, and I am a Computer Engineering major. I am a junior and a transfer student from Valencia College. I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, and I moved to Orlando four years ago.
My favorite class at UCF has been Linear Circuits 1. It came pretty easily to me, but I found it fascinating to learn the principles of electrical engineering and how they apply to our daily lives. My favorite professor is Dr. Azadeh Vosoughi, who taught me LC1. She is incredibly knowledgeable, but what I appreciate most about her is her passion for teaching and the genuine care she has for her students. She truly loves what she does and is dedicated to helping others learn.
The WiSTEM program is an amazing opportunity for new students at UCF because it provides a supportive community of people who are starting their journeys together. Big life changes can be challenging, but with the right support and guidance, they become much easier, and that’s exactly what WiSTEM offers.
In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer, going to the beach, playing PS5, and watching TV shows.
