Diego Ayala
Hello! My name is Diego Ayala, and I am a Junior majoring in Biomedical Sciences with minors in Medical Anthropology and Health Sciences. I graduated from St. Petersburg High School in 2023. My favorite classes at UCF have been Molecular Biology and Quantitative Biological Methods with Dr. Borgon because I am interested in biomedical research and using it to save lives.
I decided to get involved with the STEM Ambassador program because I believe that outreach and mentorship are necessary to inspire future generations, and I have consistently relied on the mentorship of others to get me to where I am today. I hope to show others that careers in STEM are not only achievable, but are some of the most fascinating and rewarding ones out there. If I were to give any advice to future STEM students, it would be to understand that struggle is an important part of growth, and to never mistake struggle for failure.
Outside of school, I like to spend time with my friends, at the gym, and watch football.
