Claudia Gonzalez

Hi! I’m Claudia and I’m a senior currently studying Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Art History at UCF. I’m originally from Miami where I graduated from Mater Academy Performing Arts with my high school and Associates degrees. A little background about me, I was born and raised in Cuba where I was part of a Rhythmic Gymnastics team, and I eventually came to the United States in hopes of obtaining a higher level of education. My favorite courses I’ve ever taken has to be Neuroscience. As an aspiring Neurologist, the interdisciplinary field captivates my interest on the complexities that have yet to be discovered on the human brain. Not only was it fulfilling to learn about the basics of the brain’s inner workings, but it was also captivating to be able to apply these ideas to understanding complex disorders in the hopes of finding better treatments.

I became a STEM Ambassador because I believe that knowledge is attainable to anyone who seeks it. I would like to inspire and guide others regardless of where they come from or any barriers holding them back from their dreams. I hope that I can contribute a little bit of positivity and confidence to younger students seeking their dream stem careers. A few words of encouragement from me, as I finish up my bachelors I have realized that the journey is not a perfect incline and that even if you think you are starting too late, unsure of how you will get there, or even fail during the way, don’t forget that you can still succeed at the end.

Lastly a little bit more about me, outside of my studies I enjoy taking care of plants and my cat, Mocha, she’s a calico! I love days where I get to go to museums and coffee shops and I like to spend time with friends, either by roller blading or doing yoga together.
