Santiago Medina
Hi! I’m Santiago Medina, a sophomore majoring in Electrical Engineering at the University of Central Florida. I graduated from Cypress Bay High School in Weston, Florida, and my parents are from Colombia. One of my favorite classes at UCF has been Digital Systems, because it gave me hands-on experience designing and programming circuits that connect theory to real-world problem-solving.
When I was little, I fell in love with STEM thanks to people who came into my elementary and middle school classrooms to teach and inspire us. That experience stuck with me, and now I want to be that same person for the next kid, someone who shows how exciting and impactful STEM can be. Through the STEM Ambassador program, I hope to help students see how creativity and technology come together to make a difference in the world and impact all of our futures in a positive way.
I also believe that education is one of the most overlooked yet powerful tools we have today, and I’m grateful to be part of a program that helps bring it to others. My advice for future STEM students is to stay curious and never be afraid to ask questions, because every great discovery starts with curiosity and a willingness to learn.
While my studies and career are a big part of who I am, I also enjoy watching Formula 1, playing pickleball, traveling to new places, watching new movies, and cooking new foods.
