Jethro Suarez

My name is Jethro, and I am a first-year graduate student pursuing a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering with a focus on Biomechanics. Prior to starting my graduate career, I spent 4 years at UCF and received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Mathematics in May of 2021.

I had the opportunity to serve as a STEM Ambassador for 2 years, in which I was able to participate in many outreach activities with students K-12. During my time as a STEM Ambassador, I was able to improve my public speaking skills and connect with many other STEM students. I made the decision to return to the STEM Ambassador Program as a graduate student to continue to serve within the community and talk to aspiring STEM students about STEM-related subjects and careers.

Whenever I am not studying, I am typically outdoors. I love swimming, running, hiking, and playing ultimate frisbee. I also love going to theme parks and looking for new places to eat. If I were to offer any advice to future STEM students, it would be to always do what you love. If you strive to pursue things you are passionate about, many amazing experiences and connections will follow.
