Jessie Yeung
Hi everyone, my name is Jessie Yeung, and I am a sophomore in Computer Science. I graduated from Crooms Academy of Information Technology in Sanford.
At UCF, I really enjoyed the data structures and algorithms class, although challenging, it pushed me to work harder to really understand computer science. Most of all, my lab TA’s were very helpful and encouraged every student to be persistent. These people inspired me to get involved with the STEM ambassador program here at UCF, to support other students who are looking into a career in STEM.
My word of wisdom for future STEM students is to get used to failure. What I mean is to not take failure as a sign to steer you away from your path, but it’s actually a guiding light to success. Taking the time to understand failure rather than hiding from your mistakes will help you grow in STEM.
When I’m not in school, I like to play music and play video games.
