The Florida Solar Energy Center will be hosting a Junior Solar Sprint Workshop on June 18th and a Solar Cooker Workshop on June 19th. The workshops will run from 9am-3pm at the Florida Solar Energy Center in Cocoa, FL. The workshops are free and available to K-12 teachers; you may sign up for one day or both!

The Junior Solar Sprint workshop will focus on techniques and tricks for building and racing Junior Solar Sprint (solar) model vehicles. Each participant will receive a free JSS kits, a chance to win the raffle for the cars built during the workshop, and information on how to receive additional free kits! Teachers who participate in the Solar Cooking Workshop will receive curriculum materials, a WAPI (water pasteurization indicator), and lots of great recipes and cooker ideas! Additionally, during the class we will be eating solar cooked food (if the clouds cooperate) and constructing at least five different types of cookers which will be raffled off to participants at the end of the day!
