Sage Emerson

Hi! My name is Sage Emerson, I’m a junior here at UCF. I’m currently a Mechanical Engineering major. I graduated from a high school on Merritt Island that really encouraged students to pursue STEM degrees, and because of them, I want to help give back now.

I’ve had some incredible opportunities and learning experiences since I came to UCF, ranging from working in a lab researching human interaction with virtual reality, to working on solar panels at an orphanage in South Africa. UCF makes me feel like anything is possible, and I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far. When I’m not at school I’m at home drawing, coding, playing video games or hanging out with friends.

If there’s one piece of advice I’d like to give others, it’s not to be afraid. STEM degrees are without a doubt challenging, and sometimes it can feel like you won’t make it through. In times like those, remember that we’re all in this together, and be there for one another!
