Keris Nordin
I’m Keris Nordin, a fourth-year Industrial Engineering student at UCF, planning to graduate in Spring 2026. I graduated from Alonso High School, where my interest in STEM began. One of my favorite classes at UCF was Statics with Professor Zaurin. His rigorous teaching style and hands-on assignments pushed me to focus and truly understand the material. He also had a great sense of humor and was always willing to help, which made a significant impact on my learning experience.
My passion for teaching led me to the STEM Ambassador program. I initially considered becoming a math teacher and am now pursuing a math education minor alongside my engineering degree. I hope to contribute by inspiring students and sharing my love for learning, believing that a great teacher can transform a student’s educational journey.
Outside of school, I’m a “serial hobbyist” with interests in reading, painting, gaming, and crocheting, among others. I love spending time in nature, although my green thumb mostly thrives with vines and succulents. At home, I enjoy relaxing with my elderly cat, Violet, but I never turn down the chance to socialize with friends. I also make it a point to visit my family—especially now that they live by the beach!
